Biography
Jeffrey Lynn Fulks Jr., professionally known as JL Fulks, is an American singer-songwriter, producer, and session guitarist known for his versatile guitar work, smooth vocals, and genre-crossing songwriting. A Berklee College of Music Online alumnus and award-winning independent artist, Fulks has built a respected career both on stage and in the studio.
Throughout his career, JL has shared the stage with and opened for an impressive roster of artists, including Johnny Winter, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Doyle Bramhall II, Donovan Frankenreiter, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Tinsley Ellis, Tab Benoit, Matt Schofield, Chris Duarte, Mac Arnold & the Plate Full of Blues, Brandon Santini, and many others.
In 2013, Fulks broke onto the blues circuit touring the Midwest with world-renowned blues harmonica player Brandon Santini, performing at multiple high-profile blues festivals before launching his solo career. In 2016, JL and his blues trio won South Florida’s Regional Blues Challenge and advanced to the semifinals of the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee. That same year, he released his self-written and self-produced EP On Down The Road, featuring award-winning blues guitarist Matt Schofield. The EP charted in three categories on the Roots Music Report, received widespread critical acclaim, and has accumulated millions of streams worldwide.

In addition to his work as an artist, Fulks is a highly sought-after producer, session musician, songwriter, and music instructor. He offers professional services through Fiverr, AirGigs, and Songfinch, maintaining a consistent five-star rating with clients worldwide. In 2021, he was recognized by world-renowned bassist Charles Berthoud, winning Berthoud’s Pro Bass Player vs. 7 Pro Guitarists Fiverr Challenge on YouTube. Shortly after, JL earned Fiverr Pro verification and Top Seller status as a session musician and producer, along with Pro verification on Songfinch as a country songwriter. As of 2025, JL Fulks ranked as the highest-grossing freelance guitarist and producer in Nashville on Fiverr, contributing to and producing over 200 songs globally.
Outside of music, Fulks is an avid outdoorsman and content creator. In 2018, he launched his outdoor vlog Road Angler TV, blending fishing, travel, and original music content across the United States. In 2019, he was recognized by Vibe Kayaks and joined the Vibe Kayaks Pro Fishing Team, producing sponsored content and competing in tournaments through 2020. His outdoor work has been featured on multiple kayak fishing podcasts worldwide, and he continues to release content on YouTube and TikTok.
As of 2026, JL Fulks is based in Nashville, where he regularly performs throughout downtown Nashville and the Midwest as a solo artist and with his band. He operates a successful studio business, continues releasing new music, and remains active in both the music and outdoor content worlds.
